What does your body do? It acts according to what your mind tells it to do. It responds to stimuli such as cold, heat, touch, illness, and a myriad of other influences. What happens if you don't trust your body? You do not react appropriately to the stimuli it receives.
Why does this happen? Memories, of course. The most common one comes from childhood. You scraped your knee or elbow or something. You ran to your parent for comfort. She or he looked at it. Then he or she told you that it did not hurt. Does this sound ridiculous or what? It hurt! You knew it hurt! Yet here you were, told it did not hurt. The resulting memory has the effect of making your not believe your body when it signals you about something.
This significantly affects your self confidence. If you cannot trust your body, what can you trust? Forget the memories that make you trust your body. Since such memories were causing the opposite effect, eliminating their guidance puts an end to memories making you not trust your body.
Then there are other memories. These memories need to be put in place to guide your behavior. Remember the memories that let you trust your body. This redirects your subconscious mind to use memories of when you have trusted your body. They may be so subtle that you are not aware of them. They are there just the same. Now they will be guiding your behavior.
As you begin to trust your body, you will find that the experience is a great pleasure.
There is an additional help that goes very well with this one. It concerns your doing. Once you trust your body, your doing (which is what your body is for) is just as important to trust. Besides, it is what you do that gets criticized, put down, or whatever. Thus your doing is not to be trusted either (according to your memories).
Let's change that right now. Forget the memories that make you trust your doing. Such memories have been working in reverse. Instead of making you trust your doing, they have triggered memories that prevent you from trusting your doing. By so doing, they have been causing another huge dent in your self confidence.
Such a memory would be the same as that given for `trusting yourself.' You had done something. You had done what you could. However your work was criticized, not complimented. Therefore your doing something was not good enough. The result: you cannot trust your doing. Tragic, but there it is.
For the rest of it, remember the memories that let you trust your doing. Now your subconscious mind is directed to use those memories which will allow you to trust your doing. When you do something, you can trust what you do. You will realize that what you do is good enough. It may not be as good as someone else expects but if they wanted it better, they could have done it themselves. They did not, you did, and it is good enough. More of your ability to have confidence in yourself is coming to life. Enjoy it!
