Self Confidence, Part 1

October 30, 2005 / by psychovirus

Self confidence can be so elusive! You want to feel confident, secure in yourself, yet it does not quite happen for you. You do something. You put a lot of energy into it. You thought everything out well. You talked to others to get their opinions. You listened to hear new ideas. Still, what you had done was not appreciated. Alas, it was not even accepted! What does this do for your self confidence? It destroys it.

Consequently you do not trust yourself. You place your faith in others instead. If others fail you, you are deeply disappointed, even angry, as they were suppose to save you from failing. This is no way to live! You should be able to have confidence in yourself, in all aspects of yourself. Therefore, forget the memories that make you trust yourself. Such memories have effectively been bypassed such that other memories are triggered which cause you to cease to trust yourself. Now your subconscious mind knows to quit using such memories so that this effect is no more.

You shall be enabled to trust yourself. Remember the memories that make you trust yourself. This turns yours subconscious mind to use memories of times when you have trusted yourself. Things turned out well. You were appreciated. The positive reinforcement was there. It may have happened only once, yet that one memory will make all the difference from now on.

That is not all there is to boosting your self confidence. You require to be able to trust every aspect of yourself. Therefore the next five blogs will deal with each of these.
