Anger Management

August 17, 2005 / by psychovirus

Are you one of those people who get angry frequently? Do you snap at people for even the slightest reasons? Being angry a lot is unhealthy. It increases acid production in your system. It lowers your resistance to illness. Worst of all, it keeps you unhappy. Anger is such a damaging emotion. Yet, it remains the number one emotion expressed by most people. It's time to stop the anger!

You have had one or more experiences in your past that create your being angry so much. For a number of you, anger is a mask for other emotions. You do not want to show fear, or any of a number of other emotions. To hide them, you get angry. These memories should not be the ones directing your behavior. This will bring that to an end: forget the memories that make you angry. There, anger is no longer your primary response to anything.

Do not misunderstand, there are times when it is quite right to get angry. Any time your sense of justice is violated, you should get angry. You will get angry. To be sure of this, remember the memories that let you be angry. There is no reason to prevent you from every getting angry. As said already, there are times with the appropriate reaction is anger. You just do not have to get angry at everything any longer.

Do not be afraid of your feelings either. Feelings are a natural result of being alive. They lead to thinking, new ideas, or new relationships. Feelings are neither right nor wrong, they just are. Never get so interested in thinking that you forget to feel. Or should that be never get so interested in feeling that you forget to think? Either way, you get the idea. Thinking and feeling go together like bread and butter. They don't have to be together, but they sure taste/work better together.
